Long Distance Moves

Long Distance Moves are considered any moves out of state or with radius of 100 miles and more.

A-Z Moving is insured to move customers within California as well as anywhere in the United States. Our common route is from Southern California to New York, New Jersey area and about a dozen of states in route to and from it.

Over the years we have developed a network of business partners this allows our trucks to never travel with out a load. This increases our bottom line and we are able to pass it to our customers in a form of lower rates and special discounts.

We can even be competitive with companies in those states. We help our customers by asking them to provide us with 2 written estimates from reputable local companies and then we promise to beat the lowest one by at least $500.00. (as long as those are licensed and reputable companies).

A-Z Moving & Storage has a fleet of large trailers, specifically designed for furniture relocation. Our goal is to keep our trailers fully loaded, shuttling between California and East Coast.

Long distance moves are charged by the size of shipment and the distance of final destination. The tariff is based on weight or cubic feet. We find that charging by weight is a more honest way of doing business. The truck is weighed twice before and after the load. Regardless of what company does the move, weight is always the same. This can not be said about cubic feet/size of shipment, which will depend on professionalism and honesty of the loaders.

There is a simple way of calculating transportation cost of the long distance move.

Here is an example: 9,500 lbs shipment traveling to Dallas, TX from Calabasas, distance is 1,550 miles.

Our tariff is $0.42/lb + 10% fuel surcharge. 9,500 x 0.42 = $3,990 plus $399 = $4,389.00 .

Cost of moving materials - $300.00

Total cost of transportation = $4,689.00

There are other services that may be required by shipper, such as:

• Packing/Unpacking
• Dis assembly/Reassembly of furniture
• Shuttle
• Hoisting
• Staris, Long Carrys, Elevators, etc.

Those other services will be charged for additional tariff price.
